 S03-E16 1912

This episode starts off in 1912 where a similar string of murders happened before as they are now in Mystic Falls present day. Seems the founding families have always been a target. Cut back to the present where we find that Alaric hasn't died! Who is happy about that? I know I am but it seems that dying so many times has taken quite a toll on pour Ric, but, I'll get to that part in a second. The sheriff given some misinformation locks Alaric in the jail because missy Meredith whom I will never like no matter what she does, is pointing a finger at him for the murders. Damon, of course the good friend that he is insists that he will find something completely ignoring the Sheriff's warnings. Next scene, Elena and Matt taking a morning jog, or perhaps a marathon as Matt suggested Elena you can't outrun your problems they will find you no matter where you go. At least Bonnie doesn't blame her for what happened, but Elena always being the martyr insists it's all on her head. Now, I dislike Elena and her self-righteous attitude as much as the next person but Elena honey, this -isn't- your fault. At least not this time. Meanwhile, Elena receives a phone call, Go figure, Alaric's in jail! She shows at the station where Damon already is where they share an interaction which are always fun, Damon "i could chop it up and feed it to the squirrels." That just killed me. As did the "I mean and you hate me, the world is back on it's axis." I know that's right! Elena, seriously, pull your head out of your ass long enough to see Damon for who he is! If you were asking me, I would say that his humanity is very much intact, he confessed his love, she broke him, he rebounded. Sounds human to me but of course she simply refuses to see passed his abrasive exterior to the man hidden inside that only want to love her. Fine, you never forget your first and since it seems Stefan plans to at least try why fuss over the Delena stuff but damn it, I believe in them and he deserves someone who sees his flaws and loves him more, perhaps, it's Sage. Back at the Salvatore boarding house Stefan is brooding again, it must be Tuesday. Damon walks in throws out this quip "Dear diary a chip monk asked me my name today, I told him it was Joe. That lie will haunt me forever" I literally died! Flashback, the Salvatore's attending their relative Zacharia's funeral. Where you meet descendants of the Lockwood's and the Gilbert's.
